If you’re someone who’s new to skincare and are wondering how to exfoliate skin naturally, we’re here to tell you all about it. Exfoliation is one of the most important skincare steps but it needs to be limited to once or twice a week as over-exfoliation can damage your skin or add to existing skin problems. Here are some natural ingredients that can be used to exfoliate your skin naturally along with how to use them.
1.Honey: Use some honey independently all over your face and neck and leave it on for two to three minutes and then wash it off with lukewarm water. Honey acts as a natural humectant and it pulls the moisture back to the surface of the skin. Honey, on its own, works well as a hydrating facial scrub.
2.Yoghurt: You can apply some plain yoghurt onto your skin and wash it off after 10 minutes. Yoghurt contains lactic acid, which is a milder version of the alpha-hydroxy acid that is found in skin treatments. It relaxes and soothes the skin and leaves a hydrating effect on your face.
3.Sugar: Mix half a cup of white or brown sugar with olive oil or grapeseed oil and apply this mixture to your face and neck. Rinse it off after 15-20 minutes. Sugar works as a great natural exfoliator as it is naturally enriched with glycolic acid which also contains alpha-hydroxy acid that is used to exfoliate the skin.
4.Salt: Combine half a cup of sea salt with half a cup of grated coconut, jojoba or olive oil along with three drops of any essential oil of your choice. Gently apply this mixture to your face and neck and allow it to sit for about 10 minutes before you wash it off with warm water. Salt is an excellent natural exfoliator for dry skin as it removes the dull and dry patches from your skin without being too harsh on it. Just be careful before using this exfoliator as it can cause a burning sensation on acne-prone skin.
5.Oats: Grind one cup of oats and mix ut with emptied tea bags of chamomile tea, half a cup of coconut or jojoba oil, half a cup of grapeseed oil and a tablespoon of brown sugar. Blend all of it well and massage the paste on your skin gently. Rinse it off with warm water after 15 minutes and pat your skin dry. Oats has the ability to remove impurities as well as dead skin cells off your face and leave a smooth and supple finish to your skin.
You can also use some natural skin care products to exfoliate your skin and get rid of all dirt, grime and dead skin cells. Here are some Pure Sense products that we’d recommend.
