Dell Ultrasharp’s webcam serves a Sony Costaud sensor and a high price tag

With many people working at home because of the pandemic and seek to keep this as we spend during the post-pandemic period, there is an increased demand for accessories such as webcams and microphones. Today, Dell announced a new 4,000 webcam offering many solid features for those who work at home. However, while Dell UltraSharp’s webcam – as officially called – has an impressive list of specifications and features, they will certainly cost you a decent piece of money.

Indeed, it’s not a $ 30 webcam. Dell says the ultratrasharp webcam is equipped with a Sony Starvis 4K CMOS sensor, which allows it to broadcast and record higher resolutions than many budget webcams on the market. It should be noted that while the Ultrastrap webcam is able to capture a video in 4K, it can only do it at 24 or 30 frames per second. On the other hand, the Dell data sheet on the webcam says that it can also broadcast STHD or standard HD resolutions in 24, 30 or 60 frames per second.

So if you prefer to bring the resolution on a notch in exchange for a more fluid capture, you have the flexibility to do it. Dell says the ultratrasharp webcam uses an HDR digital overlap to add color to “extreme lighting environments” and uses the AI automatic frame to keep topics on focus. The webcam even takes care of an adjustable field of view, allowing users to broadcast with an FOV of 65 degrees, 78 degrees or 90 degrees. One thing to keep in mind is that the UltrySarp webcam does not come with an integrated microphone, so you must use an external microphone with it.

The UltrySarp webcam can be mounted in different ways, whether attached to a magnetic monitor or mounted on a tripod. In addition, it supports Dell’s express connection to automatically use Windows Hello when approaching the computer and lock your computer when you nick. It is also delivered with a magnetic shutter cap that can be used to cover the camera when it is not used, even if we imagine that few buyers will lose this shutter cap rather quickly because it is not attached to the camera itself.

Overall, it looks like Dell set up a nice webcam here, which could be a good option for those who need to take a step forward from FHD webcams. With a price tag of $ 199.99, the UltrySarp webcam can not be described exactly as inexpensive. It should therefore probably be considered by the banners or those who spend an important part of their day on video calls. The ULAWIDE webcam is available today at Dell’s website.
